Charlton Athletic have today announced the arrival of Nathan Byrne on loan from Wigan.
Byrne, who began his career at Tottenham, joins on loan until the end of the season.
The wing back has 38 Championship appearances to his name, 14 of those for parent club Wigan, who he joined in the summer from Wolverhampton Wanderers having failed to become a first choice regular at the club.
Byrne made just 10 league starts for the West Midlands side in his only season at Molineux, contributing 2 goals.
Arguably his best spell so far in his career would be the time he spent with Swindon Town.
In just over 100 game for the Robins Nathan Byrne bagged 11 goals, helping them reach the League One play-off final in 2015, where they were beaten by Preston North End.
Charlton have now made four January signings, as Karl Robinson hopes his side will shoot up the table in a late promotion push.
The London based side currently sit 11th in the League One table, but are only 5 points adrift of the top six, so it’s definitely possible.
