Barnsley have announced on their official website that they have completed the signing of Sessi D’Almeida.

D’Almeida signs a two-year contract with the Tykes having most recently played for PSG’s B side.

The 20-year-old is a defensive midfielder who came through the ranks at his hometown club Bordeaux. After making 32 appearances for Bordeaux B and scoring 1 goal, he made his full debut in December 2013 in the Europa League against Maccabi Tel-Aviv.

He went on to play a further two games for Bordeaux before switching to French giants PSG.

The youngster already has one international cap for Benin and signs following a successful trial period with Barnsley.

He featured in pre-season friendlies against Hull City and Peterborough United but now puts pen to paper on a permanent deal with the Yorkshire club.

D’Almeida becomes Paul Heckingbottom’s eleventh signing of the season as Barnsley prepare for life back in the second tier.

Barnsley fans – what do you think? Is D’Almeida a good signing? What can he offer you this season?
