The 23-year-old has signed a one-year deal with the League Two club, with an option to extend by a further year.

Hery made 42 appearances for Dale after joining from Wednesday on a free transfer in the summer of 2013.

The Frenchman made the headlines for all the wrong reasons this year after he was reported to have called the Lancashire town a “dump” in a magazine interview.

He and the Spotland outfit claimed the interview had been mistranslated, but later went on a tour of Rochdale and apologised for any confusion caused.

Hery began his career at in his homeland with Paris Saint-Germain after progressing through the youth set-up at the Ligue 1 side.

He failed to make a first team appearance and made 17 outings for the second string side, scoring once.

The midfielder went on to join Sheffield Wednesday in the summer of 2012 but failed to make appearance for the Owls and was released a year later.
