Carlisle United have snapped up winger Angelo Balanta on on a short-term deal this afternoon, the club’s website has confirmed.
The former Queens Park Rangers, MK Dons and Bristol Rovers player will stay with Carlisle until the end of the year and joined up with his new team mates for the first time today.
Born in Colombia, Balanta made the switch to England when he was just five years old and was spotted as a youngster by QPR. He progressed through their ranks and signed a professional contract with the R’s in 2007.
He would make 29 appearances for the first-team at Loftus Road but left the club after seven years at the end of the 2012/13 season.
Balanta has bags of experience playing in Leagues One and Two and will offer a big boost to boss Keith Curle ahead of the 2015/16 season.
