Sky Bet Championship side Cardiff City confirmed on their website late on Tuesday afternoon that they have completed the signing of goalkeeper Neil Etheridge and attacker Nathaniel Mendez-Laing.
The latter enjoyed last season at League One outfit Rochdale, making 39 appearances for Keith Hill’s team and vastly contributing to a successful campaign at Spotland – bagging eight goals and assisting in a further twelve.
Meanwhile, Etheridge joins the Bluebirds following two years at Walsall. His 41 outings for the Saddlers in the 2016/17 term led to twelve clean sheets and conceding 51 goals.
The 27-year-old has racked up 53 international caps with the Philippines, with his debut for the national team coming nine years ago as a teenager.
Cardiff City have also announced that the duo will arrive in south Wales when their contracts expire at Rochdale and Walsall, respectively, at the end of June.
The news means this is the first transfer business completed by manager Neil Warnock in this summer window, with the veteran boss expected to make several signings at the Bluebirds over the coming months.
