Cardiff City have confirmed the signing of Lee Tomlin from Bristol City, with the playmaker signing a three-year deal with the Bluebirds.
After helping to guide the Robins away from the Sky Bet Championship relegation zone last season, Lee Johnson was keen to retain the service of Tomlin, but the 28-year-old has opted for a move to Wales.
Tomlin was impressive for Bristol last season, making 42 appearances across all competitions, scoring seven goals and adding five assists.
The Bluebirds are now set to benefit from Tomlin’s qualities during the 2017/18 campaign, as Neil Warnock continues to reshape his squad ahead of next season.
Warnock, like Johnson, helped guide his club away from the relegation zone last season, with Cardiff eventually finishing the campaign in the top-half of the Championship table.
Having agreed a one-year deal at the Cardiff City Stadium, Warnock has been promised the funds to build a squad capable of challenging for promotion in the Championship next season.
Tomlin will now be a part of Warnock’s squad, who will be looking for a Premier League return next season.
During his 18-months in Bristol, Tomlin made 60 appearances and scored 13 goals across all competitions for the Robins, helping establish the club in the second-tier.
