Done Deal: Cardiff City complete shock move for former England forward

on

Sky Bet Championship side Cardiff City have completed the signing of West Bromwich Albion striker Rickie Lambert, according to the club’s official website.

The 34-year-old is yet to score for the Baggies this season, and has only netted once since signing for the Midlands outfit last summer.

He is likely to fall even further down the pecking order at the Hawthorns, with Hal Robson-Kanu heading for a medical ahead of the deadline tonight.

He will join a Cardiff City side that are desperate for some firepower up front, and have been heavily criticised since the start of the year.

The club are majorly short of a striker after letting Kenwyne Jones, Joe Mason, Federico Macheda and Adam Le Fondre all leave the club over the past six months.

Lambert will link up with his new Cardiff team mates, and will be thrown into the line-up to face Norwich City away after the international break.

Cardiff City fans… what do you make of the news? Are you relieved that you have finally signed a striker? Will he score goals at the Cardiff City Stadium? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
