Done Deal: Cardiff City announce Championship stalwart as club’s new manager

Sky Bet Championship outfit Cardiff City have announced the appointment of Neil Warnock as the club’s new manager, following the sacking of Paul Trollope earlier this week.

The Bluebirds announced the arrival of Warnock on their official website this morning and the experienced boss will be assisted by Kevin Blackwell and Ronnie Jepson.

Warnock boasts seven promotions on his extensive CV and the Welsh club will be hopeful that he can revive the club’s fortunes after a miserable start to the 2016/17 campaign.

The charismatic boss masterminded Rotherham United’s Championship survival mission last season but left after opting not to sign an extension to his contract at the end of the campaign.

The Bluebirds are second from bottom in the Championship and Trollope lost his job on the back of seven defeats from his first 11 games in charge, having been a surprise appointment in the summer.

Warnock, 67, will take charge with immediate effect and his first game will come on Friday week when Bristol City are the guests at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Cardiff City fans, are you happy with this appointment? How far will Warnock take the club? Let us know in the comments below!!!
