Done Deal: Cardiff announce arrival of 6ft 2in forward

Cardiff City have confirmed the arrival of Norwich City forward Yanic Wildschut on a loan deal until the end of the season on their official website.

The former Netherlands Under 21 attacker will arrive to boost Neil Warnock’s promotion bid subject to international clearance.

The 26-year-old has made 20 appearances in all competitions for Norwich this season but has more bookings than he has goals and has not laid on a single assist for a team-mate.

He has picked up two yellow cards and just the one goal – against Warnock’s former club Sheffield United in September – but Cardiff fans will hope that Warnock can reinvigorate the striker who has struggled since moving to Carrow Road from Wigan Athletic.

The Verdict

I’m not sure Wildschut is good enough to make a real impact in the Championship, especially in a promotion push.

However, Neil Warnock has a knack for taking players who have been discarded or low on confidence elsewhere and turning them around so you shouldn’t write off Wildschut just yet.

Cardiff fans – are you happy to see Wildschut arrive? Norwich fans – are you happy to see him leave? Let us know in the comments below…
