Burnley have signed Brentford defender James Tarkowski, the club have confirmed on their official website.
It brings to an end a long protracted transfer saga during the transfer window, in which Tarkowski has refused to play for Brentford as he looks to press through the move.
He has got his wish though, with a move to the North West confirmed today, and he will be hoping to help guide the Clarets back to the top flight under Sean Dyche.
The fee has been undisclosed however, Sky Sports News report that the deal could cost the Clarets a fee in the region of £6m.
Tarkwowski started his career with Oldham Athletic before making the move to Griffin Park, where he has excelled in his role of starting centre half, and become a lynch pin in the team making over 70 appearances for the club.
However, his recent actions have led to some fans to become angry and disgruntled with their star defender however, and it is thought that many will be pleased to see him leave with the fee now being agreed.
It doesn’t leave much time for Brentford to bring in replacements however, so it is expected that the Bees will be working right up until the deadline to get deals over the line.
