Bristol City have completed the signing of teenage winger Johnny Smith from non-league side Wrexham, the club have confirmed.
The Robins have signed the youngster for an undisclosed fee, on a two year contract with an option to extend the contract a further year.
Smith has made two appearances for the Wrexham first team during 2016, and will go straight into the development setup at Ashton Gate, where he’ll play football at under-21 level in the 2016/17 season.
Bristol City head coach Lee Johnson said to the club site: “He’s quick, bright and can play in a number of positions” when speaking about Smith, he also described him as a “hungry young man”.
Despite going into the under-21’s team for next season, it looks as if Johnny Smith will have a big future at Ashton Gate, he’s highly-rated and Bristol City have wasted no time in securing a deal for him.
