Bristol City have confirmed the arrival of Liverpool winger Ryan Kent on their official Twitter feed

Former Barnsley loanee Kent spent the opening half of this season in Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp's home country of Germany with Bundesliga outfit Freiburg.

However, he only made six appearances for the club before returning to Anfield earlier this week, and Klopp is not happy about Kent's lack of game time while he was in the Bundesliga.

For that reason, he has reportedly decided to put penalty clauses in the wideman's loan deal with Lee Johnson's side which means that they have to pay out a fair amount of money if Kent does not see enough game time at Ashton Gate.

Kent is through the door in time to face Manchester City in the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final on 23rd January but it remains to be seen whether he will feature against in-form Norwich City this weekend.

The Verdict

Kent should add impetus to the Robins' promotion push and can play on either flank - this is a shrewd move by Lee Johnson.

There will have been many Championship clubs in pursuit of the Liverpool man's signature and Johnson will be delighted to be the man who has won the race.
