Done Deal: Brighton complete signing of international defender to boost promotion bid

Brighton and Hove Albion have completed the signing of Vegard Forren, it was announced on the club’s official website.

Vegard Forren joins as a free agent, having left Norwegian outfit Molde in January.

After being strongly linked with a move to Norwegian neighbours Rosenborg, Forren opted instead to team up with Brighton ahead of their promotion challenge.

Brighton were recently hit with a defensive setback as Shane Duffy was ruled out for over a month, joining Conor Goldson (heart condition) on the sidelines.

The Norwegian international – with 33 caps for his country – arrives to bolster the options at centre half as Brighton look to win promotion to the Premier League.

The Seagulls have moved to snap up Forren on a short term deal until the end of the 2016/17 campaign subject to international clearance.

It is the 29-year-old’s second spell in England, having had a short stint at Southampton earlier in his career.

Brighton fans – are you pleased with the Forren signing? What can he add to your defensive options? Let us know in the comments below…
