Hambo, 20, is a Finnish U21 International and has already scored three goals in just two appearances for the U21 side as well as finding the net four times in just six outings for Inter Turku.

He has been called the 'Finnish Zlatan' because of his similar background, height and playing style so if he lives up to the real Zlatan then Brighton will have a cracking player on their books

.

Hambo has signed two-year year deal with the Seagulls but will be unable to feature until perhaps the second week

of the new season due to an ankle injury that he has brought with him.

Brighton Boss Chris Hughton is confident his new signing can make an impact but did admit that he may need a helping hand in adapting to the English game:

"Vahid is a centre-forward with a good goalscoring record this year in Finland - we hope that is something he can replicate here in England, Hughton said to the club's official site.

"He's a tall, powerful player, and he is someone we see as adding to our attacking options

- but he's a young player, and someone we would see as an option within the squad at this stage."

He is no doubt a proven goalscorer at U21 international level and domestically in Finland and he may be a shrewd signing by Hughton as he looks to add more options

and depth to his squad this season.

If he is able to replicate his fine scoring record so far in his career then it will give Brighton a much needed boost in front of goal where at times they struggled.
