The former Austria youth international turns 23 today and has agreed a four-year contract with the club, subject to international clearance.

Kerschbaumer joins the Bees after a six-month spell with Austrian Bundesliga outfit FC Admira Wacker Mödling, where he scored once in 16 appearances as the club narrowly avoided relegation to the second division.

Speaking to the club’s official website following the confirmation of the deal, Brentford boss Marinus Dijkhuizen was pleased at being able to welcome the midfielder to Griffin Park.

“I am delighted that Konstantin has chosen to join us at Brentford,” he said.

“He is a box to box midfield player who I think will add versatility to our squad.

“I look forward to working with him in training and seeing him play in our upcoming pre-season friendly games.”
