Bradford City have completed the signing of free agent Adam Chicksen, the club's official website has confirmed.

Bradford have signed left back Adam Chicksen after he was released by League One rivals Charlton Athletic.

Bradford City narrowly missed out on promotion to the Championship last season, losing to Millwall in the League One play-off final and they have been consigned to another year in the third tier.

To rub salt into the wound, top performing left back James Meredith jumped ship and joined Championship-bound Millwall.

However, Bradford and Stuart McCall are keen to boost their squad ahead of another promotion push and they have wrapped up a deal for Adam Chicksen.

The attack-minded left back arrives as a like-for-like replacement for Meredith.

Chicksen boasts vast experience at this level, having represented the likes of Milton Keynes Dons, Leyton Orient, Brighton and Hove Albion, Gillingham and Charlton Athletic.

The 25-year-old puts pen to paper on a two year deal, committing his future to Valley Parade until the summer of 2019.

Chicksen spent one year at Charlton, playing 25 games for the Addicks in rotation with Lewis Page.

He has now joined Bradford City for their promotion push in the 2017/18 season after signing for the Bantams on a free transfer.
