Sky Bet League One side Chesterfield have confirmed on their official website the arrival of Bolton Wanderers forward Conor Wilkinson on loan until the New Year.
The Croydon-born forward has been with Bolton since the summer of 2013 after leaving Millwall, and is highly-thought of by some of the staff at the Macron Stadium.
Since joining the Trotters, Wilkinson has enjoyed several loan spells across a number of leagues.
After a short period at Chester in the Conference Premier in October 2013, the 21-year-old striker had a one-month loan spell at Torquay United, but failed to help keep the Gulls in League Two.
The 2014/15 campaign was the break-out season for Wilkinson, as he scored three goals in Bolton’s pre-season before being sent out on loan to Oldham Athletic.
The 21-year-old made his debut for Wanderers in December 2014, after coming on as a substitute in a goalless draw against Reading. The Irish-youth international signed a contract extension with the Greater Manchester club the same month, lasting until 2018.
Wilkinson has 11 caps for the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad, and becomes Chesterfield’s 10th summer signing.
