Done Deal: Birmingham City striker makes temporary Eredivisie switch

Published

Sky Bet Championship side Birmingham City have confirmed on their official website that striker Nicolai Brock-Madsen has joined Eredivisie outfit PEC Zwolle on a season-long loan deal.

The news means that the former Randers man wasn’t part of manager Gary Rowett’s plans for the season ahead, but he’ll be looking to impress the Blues bosses during his time in the Netherlands.

Birmingham announced the loan signing of Burnley striker Lukas Jutkiewicz earlier on today and that all but confirmed Brock-Madsen will have been surplus to requirements for the season ahead, despite the sale of James Vaughan to Bury last week.

The Blues have also added Sheffield United forward Che Adams to their attacking ranks this summer and, whilst the former Ilkeston man isn’t an out-and-out striker, he’ll be more inclined to get game-time than Brock-Madsen, who has struggled to adapt to the English game.

Denmark Under-21 forward Brock-Madsen made eight appearances for the Blues last season, but failed to register a goal.

A loan move was mooted all summer, but it’s a last minute deal that will see him move for the rest of the season.

Birmingham fans… what do you make of the news? Are you pleased to see Brock-Madsen go out on-loan? Can he force his way into the Blues first team upon his return, depending on his form? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
