Birmingham City have announced via their official club website the signing of former academy player Adam Legzdins.
The shot stopper has signed a two year contract with the option of a further year which is in the club’s favour.
Blues have been interested in Legzdins for a while and after his release from Leyton Orient earlier this month the move went through fairly quickly.
He has become the second signing for manager Gary Rowett in as many days following the arrival of former Sheffield Wednesday playmaker Jacques Maghoma.
Staffordshire born Legzdins came through the academy at Birmingham and that is thought to be one of the main factors in his return to the West Midlands club, along with the prospect of first team football.
After the release of both Colin Doyle and Darren Randolph, the arrival of the 28 year old is greeted with some relief from fans with the only goalkeeper left at the club was the vastly inexperienced Nick Townsend.
Despite the announcement of the signing, some Birmingham City fans are still hoping that the former Burton Albion boss will still be looking for another keeper as two goalkeepers for the season seems a bit short.
