Birmingham City have announced via their official club website that midfielder Andrew Shinnie has signed a new two-year deal.
The contract extension means that the player, who joined on a free in the summer of 2013, will stay with the club until the summer of 2018.
Shinnie, who predominantly plays as an attacking midfielder, usually just off striker Clayton Donaldson, is now the fifth player to sign an extension with the club. Demarai Gray, Clayton Donaldson, Jonathan Grounds and Paul Caddis have all signed extensions with the club in recent weeks.
With Shinnie signing a contract extension, manager Gary Rowett is signalling that he has moved on from the blow he received when it was announced former loanee Diego Fabbrini would be joining Middlesbrough on a season long loan instead of returning to St.Andrews.
The players who have penned new deals with Birmingham City will provide fans with a huge boost because the club have not been massively active in the summer transfer window as of yet.
