Aston Villa have completed the signing of Ahmed Elmohamady, the club's official website is reporting.

The signing of Ahmed Elmohamady was completed today after the versatile player agreed to reunite with Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce.

The Villains have agreed a fee with Hull City for the purchase of Ahmed Elmohamady, who has put pen to paper on a three year deal with the West Midlands outfit, committing his future to Aston Villa until summer 2020.

Elmohamady can play as a right back, right wing back or as a winger and has operated in all of those positions before during his time in England.

The 29-year-old was signed by Steve Bruce in 2010 when he was the manager of Sunderland.

After a successful loan spell, Elmohamady penned a permanent deal with the Black Cats and stayed with them until 2013.

Steve Bruce re-signed the Egyptian international in 2013 at Hull City after two successful loan stints at the KCOM Stadium.

After more than four years as a Hull City player, Elmohamady has opted to leave and join the Villains.

Hull City seemed resigned to losing Elmohamady and have already brought in Chelsea defender Ola Aina on loan as his replacement.

Ahmed Elmohamady could compete with James Bree and Alan Hutton for the starting right back spot or Steve Bruce might choose to utilise him further up the field.
