Aston Villa central midfielder Ashley Westwood has joined Burnley for an undisclosed fee, the club’s official website has confirmed.
The Villa midfielder has been on the radar for Burnley since the summer, but has now signed a three-year deal at Turf Moor after completing his move today.
Westwood joined the West Midlands outfit in 2012 and made 161 appearances in total – scoring five goals. The 26-year-old midfielder will bring a vast amount of energy into the Burnley midfield, and has always been praised for his tireless efforts in a Villa shirt.
Sean Dyche is aiming to bolster his midfield as the Lancashire club look to avoid the drop back into the Championship.
Burnley will be looking to seal a few more additions by the end of the day, and have been linked with a £13m for Norwich winger Robbie Brady.
