Sky Bet Championship side Hull City have completed a deal to sign Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom on loan for the season, the club have confirmed.
The 19-year-old is an academy product at Arsenal but has only made four senior appearances for the Gunners – he joins teammate and centre-back Isaac Hayden on loan at the KC Stadium for the year.
Despite four loan spells, the latest being at Nottingham Forest on the back end of last season, he’s yet to score a senior goal in 21 appearances, but is a proven goalscorer at international level, with 17 goals in 40 England appearances at youth level.
The talented striker scored a hat-trick in pre-season with Arsenal but joins a Tigers side in need of more strike power, as Dame N’Doye, Abel Hernandez and Nikicia Jelavic all look set to leave the KC Stadium.
Akpom looked to have really found his groove in pre-season with Arsenal, and if he continues that sort of form in the league for Hull, he could prove to be a seriously beneficial addition for the Tigers.
