Arsenal winger Ainsley Maitland-Niles has joined Championship side Ipswich Town on a season-long loan, the club have confirmed.
The 17-year-old is Ipswich’s third signing of the summer following Bournemouth duo Brett Pitman and Ryan Fraser to Portman Road.
The youngster is highly-rated by Gunners boss Arsene Wenger and the Frenchman included the winger in the first-team last season as he made three appearances in all competitions.
Maitland-Niles, who has represented England at youth level, has been with Arsenal since the age of nine and progressed through the youth ranks at the Premier League club.
The switch to Ipswich is his first move away from Arsenal and Wenger will be hoping the youngster will get regular first-team football at the Suffolk outfit.
He is described on the Gunners official website as a “pacey winger, who has an eye for goal”, but is said to also be able to play in centre midfield if needed.
