John Bostock has hinted at his surprise towards Darren Moore's decision to leave Doncaster Rovers for Sheffield Wednesday this morning.

Moore has made the surprise decision to leave the Keepmoat Stadium, despite Donny going well in League One and fighting for promotion via the play-offs.

Donny, who currently sit sixth in the league standings, have enjoyed a really promising campaign under Moore, who has now decided to leave the club for Championship strugglers Sheffield Wednesday.

It's a managerial appointment which has come from nowhere, and one that is likely to have surprised players given their league position.

John Bostock, who joined Donny on a free transfer in January, has hinted at his surprise towards the departure on social media this morning.

Bostock was given a chance by Moore after being left without a club following his departure from Toulouse at the end of last season. He was on loan at Nottingham Forest last season, but barely featured under Sabri Lamouchi.

The Verdict

You have got to feel for Bostock in some ways.

He hasn't played a lot of football in recent years, and Moore was the manager who gave him a chance after being left without a club for a lengthy period of time.

Bostock has been impressive since his arrival at Donny so this news shouldn't affect his first-team chances too much, but it's a massive blow for Rovers in their quest for promotion.

Moore's decision will still continue to divide fans in weeks to come.
