It has been revealed today that John Ryan and Louis Tomlinson’s takeover of Doncaster Rovers is ‘in serious doubt’.
The takeover had been due to be finalised by this Friday but the Ryan and Tomlinson have failed to raise the required funds through crowd-funding. As a result John Ryan will fail to meet the requirements of the FA’s ‘Fit and Proper Persons’ test.
A statement from the pair read: “The Tomlinson Ryan Trust Crowdfunder project has failed to reach the target as set out under the terms of the funding arrangements,”
“The result of which will be that all pledges will be cancelled and funds returned to the relevant parties.
“The consequence of this is that the deal to takeover the club is now in serious doubt.”
The news will come as a blow to Doncaster boss Paul Dickov who has been unable to make any new signings this summer as a result of the uncertainty.
