Doncaster Rovers reveal trialists

Ahead of their opening pre-season friendly, Doncaster Rovers have revealed the identity of several players currently on trial with the club.

After relegation from the Championship in the final day of last season, Rovers have lost several key players on free transfers. With a takeover from former chairman John Ryan and One Direction star Louis Tomlinson not yet finalised, the club’s activity in the transfer market has been severely hindered.

The club has today revealed the identities of several out-of-contract players currently training with the club on the teamsheet for tonight’s friendly against Bradford Park Avenue. James Bailey and Peter Clarke were both named in the starting line-up with Jon Otsemobor and Elliot Kebbie set to appear in the second-half.

Bailey is widely reported to have already agreed to sign for the Keepmoat Stadium outfit. The midfielder was recently released from Derby County after making just one league appearance last season.

Peter Clarke has also been linked with the Yorkshire club, however there remains interest in the former Huddersfield Town defender from elsewhere. The 32 year-old was released by Huddersfield after five seasons and 192 league appearances at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Otsemobor was last seen playing for Tranmere Rovers, on loan from MK Dons. The right-back agreed a release from MK Dons at the beginning of January but has been unable to find a club since then.

Elliot Kebbie signed for Hull from Spanish side Atletico Madrid back in January but was unable to secure a longer-term deal. The right winger is hoping to impress Doncaster boss Paul Dickov and earn his first experience of professional English football.
