Doncaster Rovers have revealed the identities of four new trialists currently training with the club.
Paul Dickov’s Keepmoat Stadium outfit faced Conference side Lincoln City in the club’s second pre-season friendly. The club are hoping to bounce back to the Championship following relegation on the last day of the previous season.
Rovers have lost several key players from last season on free transfers with David Cotterill, Paul Quinn and Mark Duffy, amongst others, leaving the club for pastures new.
The John Ryan & Louis Tomlinson led takeover of the South Yorkshire side has prevented the club from transfer activity. That has not stopped Doncaster boss Dickov from trialling a number of players for the upcoming league season.
Defenders Jon Otsemobor and Peter Clarke as well as midfielders James Bailey and Elliot Kebbie were all officially confirmed as on trial during the club’s recent friendly against Bradford Park Avenue. The club have now revealed that four more players are looking to earn a contract with Doncaster.
The trialists were namely: Ben Williams (ex-Hibernian & Colchester), Cedric Evina (ex-Charlton), Nathan Tyson (ex-Blackpool) and Jamie Ashdown (ex-Leeds).
The news will come as a hindrance to Crawley Town’s transfer plans with former Charlton player Cedric Evina having been close to signing for the Sussex club earlier this week.
