Doncaster Rovers defender Paul Quinn has been branded as ‘unprofessional’ by boss Paul Dickov for failing to report for pre-season training for the second summer in a row, reports the Doncaster Free Press.
Dickov revealed after last night’s friendly, a 2-0 win at Bradford Park Avenue, that Quinn has yet to report back despite remaining under contact at the club.
“Paul is contracted to the club,” Dickov told The Star.
“For the second year running he’s not turned up for training which is disappointing and unprofessional from his point of view.
“He does have a release clause in his contract which he activated but as we stand now he is still our player because he’s not signed for any other club so he should be in for training.
“It’s disappointing, not just for myself but for the club.
“Paul has had a lot of help both personally and professional from the club.
“For it to happen for the second year running is unprofessional to say the least.”
Doncaster had a number of trialists in the squad in last night’s friendly including former Huddersfield Town defender Peter Clarke, former Derby midfielder James Bailey, former Hull City right-back Elliot Kebbie and former Sheffield Wednesday full-back Jon Otsemobor.
