Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman has backed West Brom to win promotion this season and believes their recent blip means complacency won't be an issue.

A seven-game winless streak over the Christmas period and January saw the Baggies' lead at the top significantly cut.

However, they got back to winning ways against Luton at the start of the month and have picked up ten points from the next four games, which includes Saturday's convincing win at Bristol City.

Slaven Bilic's side have looked at their irresistible best in recent games too, with Goodman telling the Sky Sports EFL podcast that he feels Albion will win promotion and that they will have benefited from that poor run as they know their standards can't drop again.

"When you look at West Brom, in the month of February they got their mojo back. I think the wobble they had will be the thing that stops complacency moving forward from creeping in, so it probably was a good thing for them.

"I do believe West Bromwich Albion are all but there."

Albion hold a nine-point lead over third place ahead of tonight's game at home to Preston.

The verdict

I think most people would agree that West Brom will win promotion and it's not just because of the comfortable lead they have over third.

What's equally as pleasing for Bilic is that the team have been superb in recent weeks and they look as though they are capable of going on a good run.

As Goodman says, the poor form in the past few months will ensure West Brom don't let their foot off the gas as it was a real wake up call and one that the team have reacted too in the right way.
