Sheffield Wednesday's Dominic Iorfa has outlined his Premier League ambitions.

The 24-year-old has featured 32 times in the Championship for Wednesday this season, scoring once. He signed for the club in January 2019 and in his first half-season at the club he impressed.

It set him up for a strong campaign this time round and despite Wednesday's disastrous 2020, Iorfa has remained a bright spark throughout.

Speaking to Yorkshire Live, he discussed his dream to one day play in the English top-flight:

"Everyone wants to play at the highest level and test themselves against the best. I have got the ambition to play in the Premier League. That is the level I want to get to but I know I have got certain things to improve."

Wednesday's season started brightly. Throughout much of the first-half of the campaign they were battling in and around the top-six, peaking at Christmas when they jumped up to 3rd in the table.

But a string of losses followed by a chaotic 5-0 defeat at home to Blackburn Rovers sent Garry Monk's side spiralling down the table - they currently sit in 15th-place.

"I have really enjoyed my club football this season and we will see what happens in the future," continued the ex-Wolves man.

"We have got a good team and we showed that in the first half of this season. I still think we could be in and around it (the top six) this season - if we go on a good run, anything is possible."

Wednesday have an eight point gap to bridge if they're to still make the play-offs this season. They've shown that they have the quality to do so, but the consistency still evades them.

The verdict

Iorfa is proving to be a really good Championship defender. He's tremendous physical attributes and if Wednesday conclude their season in the way they finished it, there could be some top Championship, or even Premier League clubs sniffing around him in the summer.
