EFL Pundit Sam Parkin has praised Coventry City's midfielders after another impressive victory away at Ipswich Town on Saturday.

The Sky Blues have been flying in recent months and are now seven points clear of third placed Oxford United, whilst also having a game in hand on the majority of the sides below.

On Saturday, Mark Robins' side secured yet another valuable three points when they won away at Paul Lambert's out-of-form Ipswich side, with Matty Godden getting the only goal of the game coming from a great pass by Bristol City loanee Liam Walsh.

Next up for Coventry is Shrewsbury Town, followed by a trip to Lincoln City and with just 12 games left to play, they'll know how important every victory is come the end of the campaign.

Parkin has stated that the midfielders are doing the business for the Sky Blues this season, and are creating the goals for Godden.

Speaking on EFL on Quest, Parkin said: "Liam Walsh helped with his brilliant threaded through ball. It was Jamie Allen last week. Those diminutive Coventry midfielders are doing the business.

"It was a great celebration too. They're on a fantastic run.

"Ipswich were better today [than their recent performances] and they were clapped off, but Mark Robins side have picked up eleven wins from fourteen games."

The Verdict

Coventry have been brilliant over the last few weeks and Parkin is absolutely right to praise them and the midfielders on the weekend.

Yes, Godden is getting the plaudits for his recent goals and quite rightly so, but the players in the middle of the park have been excellent in getting the ball on the floor and playing some good football.

It will be interesting to see if the Sky Blues have any hiccups over the last couple of months of the season or whether they go on and storm to the league title.

Robins has done a fantastic job and they will be a good addition to the Championship if they go on and gain promotion.
