Bristol City drew 0-0 with Celtic last night as they continued their preparations ahead of the season starting in just over three weeks time.
Asked Pearson tonight about Dan Bentley not playing. The manager says it was simply a selection issue. No injury (and he trained before the draw tonight). "I'll decide what at any given time. It's all about competition." #BristolCity Full quotes:https://t.co/Ucm8H3xw2w

Unsurprisingly, boss Nigel Pearson picked a very strong XI from the off against the Glasgow giants, although there was one surprising omission, as Dan Bentley was not involved, with Max O’Leary playing most of the game in goal.
Some initially thought the stopper had picked up a slight knock but Pearson provided an update after the game, telling Bristol Live that there was nothing wrong with Bentley and it was purely a selection decision.
Did each of these 20 midfielders ever score a goal for Bristol City?
That surprised the Robins fans, with some feeling that this means Bentley will be off this summer. Whilst there have been no strong rumours about a potential exit right now, Southampton have been linked with the keeper in the past, showing how highly-rated he is.
Here we look at some of the reaction to the comments from Twitter…
Doesn’t sound too good that

To be fair we all already know how good Bentley is so makes sense to look at the others also. But seems a fair few prem clubs are looking for keepers at the moment so there is going to be that worry for us fans.

Makes sense to give Max a run out against decent opposition

So he's off then? Upholding the tradition of selling the player of the year.
