Aston Villa could be without key James Chester against Birmingham on Sunday after the defender went off injured for Wales last night.

A knee complaint forced the centre-back off early into the second half of his country's clash against Denmark last night and whilst he walked off, the fact he couldn't continue is concerning for Dean Smith.

Chester will return to the West Midlands to have the injury assessed, with the extent of the setback unknown at this stage.

However, he is certainly going to be a major doubt for the big derby on Sunday which sees Villa host Blues.

Smith doesn't have much depth at centre-back, with Chester and Axel Tuanzebe the preferred partnership since the new boss was appointed and they are the only senior options in that role.

Therefore, fans are understandably worried about the skipper missing such a vital game.
