Stoke City are reportedly interested in signing Burnley forward Sam Vokes this month.

The Potters, who are also interested in landing Southampton forward Charlie Austin, are looking to add to their firepower up front, and are weighing up a move for Wales international Vokes.

The 29-year old has made just 10 starts in the Premier League this term, having fallen behind Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood in the pecking order at Turf Moor.

Here, we discuss whether Vokes would be a good signing for Stoke...

George Harbey

"I think Vokes could be a really shrewd signing for Stoke.

"He may have started just 10 times this season, but he's still played a lot of games at both club and international level.

"He possesses real quality and power in the final third, and could be a perfect addition for the Potters."

Gary Hutchinson

"Another I can’t understand.

"They do need another forward but I don’t think Vokes is the one.

"I would love to have seen someone young and hungry coming in to get around Afobe.

"Vokes doesn’t fit the bill at all."

Lee Connor

"Tough one this, as Vokes is clearly someone who can perform when in the right system, but then again isn't top top drawer in terms of quality.

"It all depends what Nathan Jones wants to do with his squad.

"If he wants to play high balls and get players in suited to Championship football, then Vokes is very much up that street and it could work out well for all involved".
