Luciano Becchio defines the modern day cult-hero of Leeds United.
Leeds was Becchio’s home between 2008 and 2013, with the Argentinian striker arriving an unknown quantity and departing as someone adored by the Elland Road faithful.
Becchio struck 86 goals for Leeds, evolving from the shadow of Jermaine Beckford and becoming the leading man in the Championship, scoring goals in a poor Leeds side and earning himself a Premier League move.
Quiz: Have these 15 current Leeds United players been capped at international level? – Yes or no?
So, would he thrive under his fellow Argentine, Marcelo Bielsa, who has improved Leeds so much in the space of two seasons?
Despite Becchio’s iconic goalscoring, many fans would question whether his first touch, movement and fitness would fit with what Bielsa wanted.
However, many point to just how clinical Becchio was at Leeds and given Bielsa’s side create buckets of chances, he might well have passed 30 goals already this season.
The topic has spilled onto Twitter, with many Leeds fans weighing…
Very different type of player, never the fittest if we're honest so I'm not sure he would.

Without a shadow of a doubt, he’d be on 30 goals already this season 👍

If Bamford does then yes 100%

— Adimski (@Adimski2) May 12, 2020

Absolutely good hold-up play, good in air, Brilliant work rate. Scored 30 goals the season he played up top on his own. If he had been with us this season, we would’ve run away with the league

Sadly not as I don’t think he’d ever get to the fitness level that Bielsa demands
— Nick Swatton (@nickswatton) May 12, 2020
Not without 6 months of intense training

No, unfortunately not. And I love him.

No from me
— DaleLUFC (@Dale__LUFC) May 12, 2020
He doesn’t really fit Bielsas mould of what he wants from a player, so I’d say no he wouldn’t make the cut
