Reading made it two defeats in two on Saturday after failing to recover from a shambolic first-half performance at the KCOM.

Despite having a number of clear-cut opportunities in the second-half, the Royals couldn't find the equaliser that the chances would suggest they deserved.

However, it was another rude awakening for on-loan goalkeeper Joao Virginia. The 19-year-old joined from Everton in the summer and has failed to impress in both pre-season and the opening fixtures.

The Portuguese youngster failed to palm away Kamil Grosicki's weak effort, and instead it bobbled across the line for Jarrod Bowen to tap home.

Virginia also struggled last weekend against Sheffield Wednesday, as well as making a mistake against Chelsea in pre-season. Reading brought in former Napoli goalkeeper Rafael on Wednesday with many supporters hoping that he can come into the starting XI sooner, rather than later.

Here's some of the reaction to his performance on Twitter....
