‘Does that mean we’re stuck with Jansson?’ – Leeds United fans rejoice in update on defender’s future

Massimo Cellino’s first transfer window with Leeds United in 2014 saw a number of players join the club from the Italian leagues, with very few failing to impress.

Only three-players are still involved with the current first-team under Garry Monk, Gaetano Berardi, Souleymane Doukara and Marco Silvestri- the latter failing to make an appearance in the Sky Bet Championship this season.

Mirco Antenucci and Giuseppe Bellusci were two players who featured regularly during their two seasons at Elland Road, but were released and loaned out respectively ahead of the current campaign.

Bellusci joined Italian outfit Empoli during the summer, and reliable journalist Phil Hay has now delivered an update on the defender’s Leeds future.

Hay reported that Bellusci’s contract with Leeds had been terminated over the summer, meaning it was now highly unlikely he would return to Elland Road in the summer.

The news brought delight across the Leeds fan-base, with many hoping they wouldn’t see the controversial Italian back at Elland Road.

Here is how they reacted…
