News has broken today of West Ham showing an interest in Leeds United's Swedish defender Pontus Jansson.

Far from being in uproar, many Leeds fans are reacting positively on Twitter, despite the 27-year old being on of their stronger performers from a less than impressive season of struggle.

The Guardian's Ed Aarons broke the news that West Ham are chasing the Swedish international in an attempt to bolster a defence which has seen them struggle in this season's Premier League. They see the former Torino player as the perfect person to slot into the centre of their porous defence.

Jansson has caused a stir in recent weeks with comments that seemed to allude to him wanting a move away. On a recent trip back to his home country for the Swedish Cup final, he said he wanted talks about his future before making any solid plans.

Coupled with Leeds' need to generate their own additional spending money this season, the transfer looks less controversial by the second. It certainly appears that fans are nonplussed when it comes to losing one of their better players.
