Aston Villa are weighing up a swoop for Blackburn Rovers' in-form star Bradley Dack, according to the Sun (22nd January, page 51).

The Villans are joined by Leeds United in the race to sign the former Gillingham attacking midfielder.

Would this be a good signing for the Midlands side?

We discuss....

Sam Preston

Villa don’t have much money and they seem to have made getting a striker a priority.

The way Villa are playing at the moment, they don’t need another creative midfielder so I’d be surprised if they did this deal.

Dack is a very good player but I don’t see Villa signing him.

Chris Gallagher

Do they really need him?

I think Dack is a fine player, but Villa have Josh Onomah and Jack Grealish who can play in the role the Blackburn man would occupy.

If FFP restrictions are impacting Villa then they would be better of putting whatever money is available to bringing in a striker.

Adam Simeoni

Dack has proven a sensation since making the switch to Blackburn from Gillingham, and his form has helped Rovers into the automatic promotion places this season.

The player looks destined to play in the second tier, but it will take a significant offer to convince Blackburn to part with the player.

With Villa struggling for funds, I cannot see this deal going through this month.

Alfie Burns

Dack would be a good alternative to Jack Grealish, and would add another dimension to Villa’s attacking play.

I’m not sure Villa should be prioritising any deal for Dack, but if they can get hold of him for a reasonable price, it could be a good move.

How much he would play at Villa Park is up for debate, but you’d imagine Dack would be keen on linking up with a squad pushing for the Premier League.
