Swansea City boss Russell Martin is reportedly fully committed to the South Wales club despite links to Rangers, which has caused a stir among many Swans fans.
It is understood that Steven Gerrard is set to leave Ibrox and take charge of Aston Villa following the departure of Dean Smith, with some reports suggesting his appointment is imminent.
The Mirror reported yesterday that Rangers had identified Martin as their replacement should Gerrard leave as expected and have already made enquiries about him.
However, Stuart James from The Athletic has now reported that the Swansea boss is “totally committed to the work that he’s started” at the Championship club.
Martin was brought in as Steve Cooper’s replacement in the summer, leaving MK Dons after 20 months at the helm, and after a difficult start his side have found form over the last month – winning four of their last six and climbing to within three points of the play-off places.
Have any of these 30 ex-Swansea City players ever played abroad?
The 35-year-old has quickly become a popular figure among fans of the South Wales club and it is no surprise that the update concerning his current stance has proven a talking point among many of them on Twitter.
