Djed Spence has been a key player for Nottingham Forest since he joined on loan from Middlesbrough.

Forest beat the deadline to land Spence's signature on deadline day, with the wing-back falling out of favour under Neil Warnock.

Ever since making his debut for the Reds, Spence has impressed, particularly in away wins at Huddersfield and Barnsley.

Forest, who beat Barnsley 3-1 in midweek, picked up another away win at the weekend, winning 3-0 at Birmingham City.

It was arguably Spence's best display in a Forest shirt so far, and his afternoon was rounded off in perfect style when he scored the third goal.

Spence latched onto Philip Zinckernagel's through ball before finishing emphatically beyond Matija Sarkic to put the game to bed.

Taking to Twitter after the game, Spence spoke of how much he is enjoying his football, sending what looks to be a dig towards Neil Warnock and Boro.

The Verdict

It was a surprise to see Boro let go of Spence on loan to a Championship rival when he did leave, however these comments are even more surprising.

Spence may not have the greatest time under Warnock in recent times, but he is still contracted to the club and may still have a future there.

On current evidence, it doesn't look as though that is the case. I wouldn't be particularly happy if I were a Boro fan.
