Loads of Portsmouth fans have reacted after Kenny Jackett dropped the bombshell that striker Brett Pitman was out of his plans for the season.

The manager denied that it was due to any falling out between him and the player or the player and the squad but also did not give a concrete reason for the decision.

Pitman became a huge fan favourite at Fratton Park after signing from Ispwich Town during the summer of 2017, scoring 24 goals in his first season as Pompey narrowly missed out on the League One play-offs.

Last season his influence was not quite as strong but he still found the net 11 times, predominantly playing as back-up to Ollie Hawkins as well.

However, with over half the season now elapsed he has played just League One matches, scoring just twice, and has not been part of the matchday squad since a 1-1 draw with Gillingham.

Fans, for the most part, seem to be really surprised, whilst some are not happy at all...
