Jos Luhukay came in for criticism from Sheffield Wednesday fans after his strange decision to go without a recognised striker in the 2-1 defeat at Millwall.

The Owls have been hit with a ridiculous injury list this season and several attacking players were absent for the trip to The Den last night.

The new boss opted to go with Ross Wallace and George Boyd as the most advanced options despite having Atdhe Nuhiu and Lucas Joao on the bench. Luhukay claimed he need to manage his squad in this busy run of games.

A stunning Joey Pelupessy strike had given Wednesday a first-half lead but quick goals Lee Gregory and Steve Morison put the hosts in front.

Shortly after the Lions took the lead, Luhukay turned to his bench to bring on Joao, with Nuhiu coming on for the final ten minutes as well.

Yet, it wasn't to be and the excellent away following made the long journey back to Yorkshire after watching another defeat.

And, the decision to go without a striker didn't go down well.
