Sunday’s West Yorkshire derby between Leeds United and Huddersfield Town was marred with controversy, following a touchline confrontation between both sets of managers.

Garry Monk and David Wagner were both sent off during an entertaining game at the John Smith’s Stadium, one that will live long in the memory.

Huddersfield were, of course, eventual 2-1 winners, thanks to a late Michael Hefele goal.

Substitute Izzy Brown had given the home side the lead before Chris Wood broke the offside trap to pull Leeds level before the break, setting up a mouth-watering encounter after the interval.

As the game looked to be heading for a draw Hefele pounced on a deflected shot, to give Huddersfield a valuable three points.

Hefele’s goal sparked wild celebrations from Terries manager Wagner, who sprinted through the Leeds dugout to celebrate with his players in the most dramatic of circumstances.

His opposite number was not impressed and appeared to barge Wagner as he tried to return to his dugout and drama quickly ensued.

This led to a brawl involving both benches and sets of players- the aftermath seeing Monk and Wagner sent to the stands.
