Coventry City will not be playing at the Ricoh Arena next season after they had to provide the EFL with an update on their plans yesterday.

The club confirmed on their official site that they are not going to be playing in their city next season, with two groundshare options under consideration and one will have to be finalised in the coming weeks.

"Regrettably, we therefore have had to make alternative plans to the Ricoh Arena, the stadium that was built for us, to ensure our place in the EFL next season. The groundshare proposals would do that," it stated.

That came after the EFL released a statement that announced an 'Extraordinary General Meeting of Clubs has been convened to consider their expulsion from the League on 25 April if they are unable to satisfy the EFL Board'.

Clearly, this is a terrible situation for the Sky Blues and once again the fans are the ones to suffer as they nervously wait to see if the club will be allowed to play in League One next season.
