Nottingham Forest fell to a disappointing 1-0 defeat on Tuesday evening at the City Ground against Luton Town.
Despite having the better of the chances, and the majority of the possession, Chris Hughton’s side failed to make that dominance count, as Ryan Tunnicliffe scored the only goal of the match after 64 minutes.
Forest introduced Lyle Taylor with just over 20 minutes remaining in the game, but the former Charlton Athletic man failed to get on the scoresheet as the Reds were left frustrated.
Taylor has scored five goals in 34 appearances for Nottingham Forest this season, but the 30-year-old hasn’t scored since their match against Wycombe Wanderers back in November 2020.
Was it Lyle Taylor or Lewis Grabban that did these things?
That doesn’t make for the best of reading, especially with Lewis Grabban now likely to start the remainder of their matches in attack this term.
Plenty of the City Ground faithful took to social media to voice their frustrations at Taylor’s lack of contribution off the substitutes bench in the defeat to Luton Town.
Take a look at the best of the reaction from Twitter below….
as soon as we went 4-4-2 Against Luton we lost control of the game and personally I don’t rate Taylor. #NFFC

Figs, Yuri, Christie, Lolley, Ameobi, Cafu (maybe harsh), Murray, Taylor, Grabban. All players who when they play at their best are good enough for top 6 but simply don’t play their best often enough #nffc

Taylor has been here long enough and hasn't offered anything 31 games just 4 goal 2 against the worst team in the league Wycombe a penalty against Coventry than a goal against Derby #nffc

Massive clear out needed. Murray is here 5 years too late. I don't even know what has happened to Lolley. Taylor litterally does nothing. Doesn't win headers. Doesn't shoot. Doesn't get on the end of crosses. He does dive well though! Cafu. sloppy but apparently he's class #nffc

#NFFC also, Taylor. Big disappointment. After starting well with Lots of hype but now seems to not have much to back it up. Doesn't get a good run in the team, but when he comes on seems very lightweight? Very different player from Charlton, bad management maybe?

Lyle Taylor is beginning to grind on me abit, seems too arrogant for his own good?!…… 🤔#nffc

#nffc The only passion I see in Taylor is when he's arguing with the official's

If Lyle Taylor took more pride in his shooting than his hairstyle, he’d be worth it. #NFFC

Murray and Taylor useless.
— Paul Willars (@PaulWillars) March 2, 2021
Lyle Taylor is pointless. He wins nothing in the air and as soon as the ball gets within 4 yards of him he hits the deck. Offers nothing! Bringing him on to get a goal when you desperately is hopeless. Fist half chances cost us the game. Terrible terrible 2nd half. Pathetic #nffc

Lyle Taylor spends more time trying to claim fouls, on the floor, throwing his arms about than anything productive when he plays. #nffc

This season Lyle Taylor has confirmed his status as the worst striker I have seen wear a forest shirt in 30 years and that includes Silenzi #NFFC
