Cardiff City extended their unbeaten run to six matches in the Championship as they ran out comfortable 3-0 victors against Huddersfield on Wednesday night.

The Bluebirds were looking to seal a third success in their last four matches following recent wins over West Brom and Luton and goals from Josh Murphy, Will Vaulks and Callum Paterson all helped ensure that Cardiff sealed the three points.

The result means that Cardiff have now climbed up to eighth in the Championship and within four points of the play-off places, with their recent run of positive form having given their promotion credentials a real boost.

Cardiff looked the better side from the start of the match, and did not take too long for them to assert their dominance as Murphy latched on to Lee Tomlin's through-ball before producing a sweet finish to net his fourth goal in his last five games.

Murphy has started to pose a serious threat for Cardiff in recent weeks following a mixed season so far, and the winger further proved his abilities at the John Smith's Stadium as he continued to cement his spot in the side.
