So far this season, Massimo Luongo has been made to wait for his chance on Sheffield Wednesday, following his move from Championship rivals QPR during the summer transfer window.

On Saturday however, Luongo was finally given that chance, and he certainly took it.

After being handed his league start of the season for The Owls as they played host to Wigan Athletic, Luongo went onto score the only goal of the game, as he fired home from just inside the Latics' area from Adam Reach's pull back just before the hour mark.

That goal was enough to secure a 1-0 win for Garry Monk's side, ensuring they bounced back from their mid-week defeat to Hull City, lifting them eighth in the Championship - just one point off the play-off places - heading into the October international break.

Taking to Twitter following Luongo's goal, a number of Sheffield Wednesday fans were delighted with the long-awaited impact of their summer signing.

Here, we take a look at what some of them had to say.
