Portsmouth moved into the top four of the League One table for the first time this season on Saturday after thrashing Crewe 4-1 at Fratton Park.

Kenny Jackett's men showed few signs of the disappointment of conceding late on to drop two points at Plymouth on Monday evening,  scoring four times in the opening 56 minutes to return to winning ways on home soil, following defeat to Charlton in their previous Fratton Park outing.

Oli Finney's stoppage-time penalty was little more than a consolation for Alexandra as Pompey moved just one point behind second-placed Peterborough and only three behind leaders Hull City.

Tom Naylor scored for the second game on the bounce, whilst League One's top goalscorer, John Marquis grabbed his customary strike.

But the afternoon belonged to winger Ronan Curtis, whose seventh and eighth goals of the campaign set Portsmouth on their way to three points.
